The AKB Steering Committee has finalized the Case to Proceed document outlining a proposed path forward.   This document along with a cover letter will be mailed to the congegration in the upcoming weeks.   An electronic version is now available for you to read or download. The Case to Proceed document describes what we believe is a roadmap to a desired future for Philpott Memorial Church: A Community of Grace. In it, you’ll read about the mission and vision that drives our ministries. You’ll read about what God has been doing in our ministries that has caused us to need a significantly improved ministry facility. You’ll also see a Master Plan for a new facility that will not only address the building issues we currently face, but will also provide a plan that we believe will allow us to better achieve our mission.

In this document, you’ll see references to both a “Master Plan” and a “Phase 1."  ”Master Plan” refers to the new facility in its entirety. While we would love to be able to construct the Master Plan in one effort, doing so would require that we relocate all our worship and ministry during construction. Therefore, with the support of our Board of Elders, we have offered “Phase 1” as a feasible starting point. We believe it will make a significant difference in our ability to make more and better disciples of Jesus Christ here in Hamilton and beyond.

We hope that reading this Case to Proceed stimulates a passion in you for God’s work here in the city and that, as you consider the choice before you, you are motivated to prayerfully consider which direction He would have us proceed.

We will  be conducting the following Town Hall Meetings to walk through this document and give everyone an opportunity to ask questions.

We are searching for a Worship Arts Pastor (WAP), a musician who is also a pastor, a leader, and an artist.  As an artist, the WAP will draw other artists, nurture them, and develop them into a worship-arts community.
 
Worship is the enjoyment and celebration of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit.  Scripture, music, prayer, and silence before Him are some of the many elements that prepare and prompt us to delight in God and His work for us.

Worship and the arts blend in every congregation.  Our passion is to express our love for God, His people, and His creation through the artistic gifts granted us.  The celebration of God extends far beyond “worship events” on a Sunday morning; we want to continually express our love for Him with the creative flair God has shown in making the world.  Thus, “the Arts” include a broad array of drama, music, painting, sculpture, etc., both within the church body and in the community.
