Adult Ministries Pastor
Mike is the newest addition to the PMC dream team. He is a Hamilton native, and is glad to be serving in the city he loves. Mike is married to Heather, and they have two beautiful daughters: Maggie and Stella. Mike is a 'retired' school teacher; he brings with him a passion for studying the Bible, for developing authentic community, and for teaching God's people that knowing Jesus is better than anything else the world has to offer.

Pastor of Youth and Young Adults
Joe has been working at Philpott since December 2008. He has been doing youth ministry over a decade in various parts of Canada and the U.S. and has a passion to help people integrate Jesus into every part of their life. His wife Heather and four kids (Leila, Chandler, and the twins Lex & Eva) are much of his inspiration, accountability, and joy. His hobbies range from running and weights, to renovating anything, to reading obscure books that turn his world upside down, or hanging out with people who do the same.
Contemplative Prayer/Spiritual Direction
Contemplative Prayer/Spiritual Direction is one of many spiritual disciplines that can help people grow in their relationship with God. Described as "prayerful conversation," it is for anyone who wants a companion to journey with them in praying, listening, & responding to God's love & direction in their lives. Many of us need help in slowing down, managing distractions, & drawing near to God through scripture and prayer. This can happen individually or in groups.
Val Harvey, M.A. is trained as a counsellor, has a D.Min. from MacDiv, & has completed a 2 yr. training program in Spiritual Direction. Contact her for more information, and for resources on quiet retreats & prayer for groups or individuals. email@example.com
The Arts Coordinator
Bryan is a retired English, Latin and Drama teacher, having taught for 33 years at Hillfield Strathallan College. He took early retirement in 2002 to do volunteer work at Philpott Memorial church and, in addition to doing administrative work and general office volunteering, he is developing an arts "bridge-building" ministry based on his life-long interest in and love of art, music and literature. These interests have been greatly enhanced over the years by extensive travel, both as a tour guide on yearly school field trips to Italy as wellas more recent museum and architectural jaunts in Europe and the United States
Bram Van Overbeeke
Bram, born and raised in the Netherlands, came to Canada in 1963. He became a teacher and taught for 41 years at various private Christian schools, thirteen of these also as principal. His favourite subjects were Bible, church history, math, English, and history. During most of their married life Bram and Mineke were foster parents (over forty years) and more than seventy children mainly, babies and toddlers, were in their home for their beginning in life. After retiring from teaching they joined Philpott where Bram became involved with the visitation of those in the hospitals and the elderly who can not come to church any more. He is convinced the visits are more of a blessing for him than they are for those he regularly visits! When not visiting, he and his wife are enjoying their five children and sixteen grandchildren, gardening, some traveling, reading, and participating in their small group activities.
